Accredited by the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program, Jerry Westrom is a resident of Isanti, MN, who earned an agricultural business degree from the University of Minnesota in 1989. An avid football fan, Jerry Westrom often travels from Isanti to St. Paul, MN, to attend his alma mater’s football games.

As of the start of the 2017 season, there were 17 former Golden Gophers on National Football League (NFL) team rosters, including the three notable players below.

1. Eric Decker – A native of Cold Spring, Minnesota, Decker was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft and played four seasons with the team before joining the New York Jets. Through 95 career games, the 6-foot-3 wide receiver has accumulated 5,253 receiving yards and scored 52 touchdowns.

2. Marcus Sherels – Signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent, Sherels is a defensive back who has been used primarily as a kick return specialist. Throughout his seven-year career, he has five punt return touchdowns and has accumulated 1,799 yards on 169 returns.

3. De’Vondre Campbell – A fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Campbell played 11 games in his rookie season and recorded 48 tackles, seven passes defended, one forced fumble, and one interception.
